In this inspiring book by Wilson Rawls, Billy is a boy who always wanted some hunting dogs. When he saves up his money to get some, he ends up with puppies Dan and Ann; two Redbone Coonhounds. As the bond between the three grows, their skills come in to play, and the three become a fierce force to reckon with in the hunting world. Ann is the smart one, Dan the fighter, and Billy himself the glue that molds them together. As their friendship grows, bad luck strikes. Dan dies suddenly, and everyone is devastated. Will Billy and Ann be able to mend their broken hearts, or will more tragedy and heartbreak follow in their paths?
I was touched and moved by this inspiring story from Rawls. It is now an apparent classic that will be beloved by anyone who reads it.
