In this enchanting book by Pseudonymous Bosch, Clay is just a normal kid with an upsetting past. His brother, a great magician in training, ran away from home years ago. Since then, Clay has believed that all magic is fake. Unreal. Cheese-wizardry. But now, he is starting to second-guess that. When the words 'Magic Sucks!' appear on the wall of the school gym, words that he wrote, but in his journal at home, he is shipped off to a place in the middle of nowhere called Earth Ranch, a camp for interesting wayward youth. As Clay begins to explore the island the camp is on, though, he begins to wonder what is really going on. On his adventures, he will find; killer bees, a mysterious library, magical marshes, secret passages, cool llamas, and, most importantly of all, himself, and what his brother really left for.
I loved the first books and I love this one. Combining the modern with the old, Pseudonymous Bosch has really outdone himself again!
