Starflight
* * * * */ Five Stars
Genre: I really need to correct this section. It's more a list of themes and concepts than anything else, really. Well, here we go; Sci-Fi, Romance, Action/Adventure, Humor
I guess that's slightly better.
In Melissa Lander's novel Starflight we are introduced to Solara Brooks, a teenage girl with a rough past and a not so optimistic future. She plans to stow away to the outer realm, where her skills as a mechanic will hopefully be able to pave a better life for herself. The only problem is that she has no means of transportation and no money with which to hire a captain. Doran Spaulding, on the other hand, is incredibly rich and strived to make her life miserable in school. Solara is forced to take an indenture as his servant in exchange for passage, during which Doran continues making her life just as miserable. Until, that is, he attempts to break the deal. In retaliation, she turns the tables and boards the Banshee, a ship with an eccentric and secretive crew. And that's just the start of it all.
With pirates, runaway princesses, hidden laboratories, not-quite-so dead relatives, and the adventure of a lifetime, Starflight is one book you don't want to miss.
